Patcharin Singhanet Tannirat January 20, 1940 - February 6, 2023

Patcharin’s Story

Born in Chiang Mai, Patcharin had a happy childhood with many cousins at the family compound of their grandfather, Intha Singhanet. Attended elementary school at Dara Academy. Roller skated around Chiang Mai.

After her father died, her mother went to work/live in another district. Pat went to live with her uncle, Chinda Singhanet. She attended secondary and high school (boarding) at Dara Academy where she developed lifelong competitiveness in ping pong. She earned a scholarship to study Education at Chulalongkorn University. She lived at Student Christian Center in Bangkok, where she met her Prasit Tannirat.

Pat and Prasit married, and then moved around Thailand. Pat worked in the same civil engineering offices that Prasit worked with. They moved to the USA, had two daughters and moved around the US until they arrived in California. Pat studied English and read many Harlequin Romance novels. She worked as partner and customer charmer at the Watch Center in Hermosa Beach. They moved to Thailand for Prasit’s work at Buriram Sugar Company.

Upon retirement, they returned to the USA. They took many walks at Newport Beach, and enjoyed fishing at the pier, but grandkids, church, and travel were their main activities.

Patcharin is preceded in death by her parents: Inet and Fongkaew Singhanet, one brother: Sutiporn Singhanet, and two sisters: Yaowapa Ritkansila and Patara Singhanet, her husband: Prasit Tannirat, and one grandson, Djivan Escandon. She loved God, jigsaw puzzles, baking cakes, playing rummy, reading literature and watching historical dramas. 

Patcharin is survived by her brother, Ravee Singhanet, her two daughters, Alisa and Darlene Tannirat, and her three grandchildren, Augustino Escandon, Audrey and Dean Tannirat.
